Aventurine is quartzite carrying thousands of tiny platy inclusions, and the shimmer that moves across the surface comes from those flakes reflecting independently. The blue body colour sits behind the sparkle rather than in it.
A dragon skull has no reference specimen to copy, so every carver answers the same questions differently: how far the brow ridge juts, whether the jaw reads reptilian or leonine, how far back the horns sweep.
