A wolf home decor worked in blue aventurine. At 11 inches and 2590 g it wants a shelf of its own rather than a desk corner.
Aventurine is quartzite carrying thousands of tiny platy inclusions, and the shimmer that moves across the surface comes from those flakes reflecting independently. The blue body colour sits behind the sparkle rather than in it.
The difficulty in an animal figure is mass rather than detail: getting the shoulder, haunch and neck to carry weight convincingly while staying within the block the carver started from.
