A mm point cut from a single block of chalcedony jasper.
The warm honey and amber tones come from iron dispersed through the same cryptocrystalline quartz that makes blue chalcedony, which is why this stone shares that waxy lustre while reading completely differently in colour. It is translucent at the edges and grows solid toward the centre.
A tower is cut to stand, which means the base has to be true and the faces have to meet cleanly at the tip. The vertical form shows off banding that a rounded shape would break up.
